Swamy allowed to testify against Chidambaram

DELHI, INDIA: A CBI special court has allowed Janata Party chief Subramaniam Swamy to become a witness in his complaint against home minister P Chidambaram in the 2G spectrum allocation case.

The special court has asked Swamy to testify and get his statement recorded on December 17.

Justice O P Saini also admitted Swamy's petition for making Union Home Minister P Chidambaram a co-accused in the 2G spectrum allocation scandal.

Besides him, the prosecution will also call CBI's joint director and former joint secretary of the finance ministry.

Swamy has alleged that both A Raja, an accused in 2G spectrum allocation case, and Chidambaram acted together in the spectrum allocation and even had a meeting on spectrum pricing.

A Raja is presently in the Tihar jail.
