CHENNAI: Sutherland Global Services has announced the launch of a new Canadian delivery center in Windsor, Ontario.
The facility, slated to become operational this month, will initially house the technical support operations for a Fortune 100 global technology leader. Sutherland’s investment in Windsor marks the first major ITeS Corporation’s move to the city. The new location is slated to grow to 1,000 employees within 18 months.
The new Windsor location represents the company’s fourth Canadian expansion, following the launch of two successful Operations Centers in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and one in Vernon, British Columbia.
Sutherland chairman and CEO Dilip R. Vellodi said: “The availability of talent, a robust infrastructure, the support of the Government of Ontario and the spirit of partnership demonstrated by the City of Windsor were reasons for us to expand to this city. This Operations Center will play a key role in leveraging our ‘Right-Shored’, global delivery model.”
Sutherland’s strategy for continued growth and success is to provide their clients the best value in the industry through the integration of highly trained people, technology and proven business methodologies.
Eddie Francis, Mayor of the City of Windsor added, “I am confident that Sutherland’s legacy of delivering best-in-class training and development programs to service its Fortune clients will create a wonderful knowledge-based employment opportunity for the people of Windsor. On behalf of all of Windsor, I would like to welcome Sutherland. We look forward to working with them on putting Windsor on the map of world class destinations for high-end outsourced services.”
"Sutherland's expansion to Windsor, Ontario means as many as a thousand high value jobs. “It is a real boost to this community and a vote of confidence in Ontario as a great place to invest, " said Sandra Pupatello, Ontario Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
