MISSISSAUGA, USA: Survalent Technology, provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Outage Management System (OMS) for Innisfil Hydro, Ontario.
Innisfil Hydro operates nine substations, each with an incoming voltage of 44,000 volts. There are over 525 kilometers of high voltage lines under the company's jurisdiction, covering the 290 square kilometer service area.
The new system features Survalent's highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It is hot-standby dual redundant system which ensures disaster tolerance and maximizes uptime.
It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: Outage Management System (SmartOMS), Customer Outage Web Portal, CSR/Thin Client Web License, MultiSpeak Connectivity Import, MultiSpeak AMI, CIS Interface (Harris), WebSurv and SurvCentral Mobile Application.
"We are pleased to have Innisfil Hydro follow the natural progression to an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) application such as OMS," states Syed Hasan, regional sales manager for Canada. "The system will allow Innisfil Hydro to provide more insight to customers during an outage and improve restoration efforts."
