Surana bags Rs 34.6 crore MTNL order

NEW DELHI: Surana Telecom Ltd, said it has bagged a Rs 34.6 crore order from MTNL for 75,000 CDMA handsets. The deal includes 20,000 pieces of CDMA fixed wireless cellular phones valued at Rs 8.5 crore from MTNL.



The company said that although it has been in the CDMA business, this is the first order for hand held phones. The previous order was for approx 100,000 fixed wireless CDMA cellular phones, which have been supplied in full.



Surana shall be procuring components from Huawei Technologies, China. The company is in the process of having its products evaluated with other private telecom operators and is hoping to get an order soon.

The company said that, it is also engaged in the manufacturing of optical fiber cables and jelly filled cables and is expecting orders to the tune of Rs 35 crore shortly.

The company is looking forward to a turnover of Rs 150 crore this year.
