MCLEAN, US:Global Telecom & Technology, Inc. a network operator delivering managed data services to large enterprise, government and carrier customers in over 80 countries worldwide, announced that Sunset Digital, a provider of fiber-optic broadband connectivity to assist Economic Development and Community Enhancement, has selected GTT to deliver high capacity internet connectivity to their customers in Atlanta.

Sunset Digital recently received a federal award of $24M from the Rural Utility Service under the United States Department of Agriculture to bring affordable broadband to the rural areas of Northeast Tennessee.

“Cities like Atlanta and Washington, DC have an advantage over rural areas today in that they have Tier I connectivity to the Internet backbone–which means they are directly plugged in to the source with nothing else in between,” explained Paul Elswick, President of Sunset Digital. We selected GTT because we had a goal in mind and GTT was capable of helping us reach that goal of bringing Tier I connectivity directly into the area. In addition, this will allow us to provide our local businesses and homes with the same high-quality, low-cost connectivity they could get in Atlanta, Washington, Seattle, or even New York.”
