Sundaram Infotech gets ISO 27001

Infotech Solutions
(SIS), the IT services arm of the five-decade-old

Sundaram Finance Ltd, has been awarded ISO 27001 certification, a worldwide

certification, for professional management of data.






This certification attains significance as it comes in the wake of the recent
announcement by SIS to target overseas markets, including the Middle East and

US.






SIS, which focuses primarily on the Financial Services and Manufacturing
verticals, has a 50000 sq. ft. software development facility in Chennai and will

be doubling its infrastructure presence to over 1,00,000 sq. ft. this year.






SIS is currently in the process of hiring over 500 professionals and will be
trebling its headcount in Chennai to over 750 employees.






Commenting on the certification, Srinivas Acharya, Dy. MD, Sundaram Finance
Ltd., and Sundaram, CEO, Infotech Solutions said, “The Sundaram brand is known

adherence to processes that ensure long term benefits to clients. We believe

Awarded by British Standards Institution (BSI), the ISO 27001 gives assurance to
clients that management of data is as per international standards.






ISO 27001 is a world-wide accepted security frame work standard that enables a
Process Oriented approach to Plan, Deploy, Control & Monitor against

information Security threats, Mitigating Business Risks. Known worldwide for its

initiative in developing standards, BSI stands among the forefront of Auditing

and Certifying bodies. The certificate is accredited under UKAS (United Kingdom

Accreditation Services).






This certification is valid for 3 years.





K. Swaminathan, Sr. Vice President, SIS said, “With the certification,
customers have the assurance that their data and systems are in safe hands, that

the data integrity is intact providing safeguards against damage or theft.
