Sun, PNBIIT to set up Java Centre of Excellence

NEW DELHI: Sun Microsystems India Pvt. Ltd will set up set up a Java and Solaris Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the Lucknow campus of Punjab National Bank Institute of Information Technology (PNBIIT).

Sun announced its tie-up with PNBIT to set up the centre here today. With this tie-up, PNBIIT becomes India's first enterprise/banking IT institute to offer Sun Education
courses in India and has become an Authorized Sun Education Centre.

As per the alliance, Sun Education will provide its official curriculum in Java Technologies and Solaris Administration and its instructional methodology to students of PNBIIT. The institute will, in turn, offer Java Technology certification paths and Solaris 10 — System and Network Administration certification paths to its own banking students/professionals and students/professionals from other banks as well.

It will also offer the curriculum to college students and other IT professionals in Lucknow.
