NEW DELHI: Sun Microsystems India Pvt. Ltd. has announced a tie up with All
India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to extend education on Sun's
technologies such as Java and Solaris through AICTE affiliate colleges.
A memorandum of understanding was signed to this effect between, chairman of
AICTE Prof. R S Nirjar and Sun Microsystems India Pvt. Ltd. managing director
Bhaskar Pramanik. As part of the partnership Sun Microsystems Education
division, Sun Educational Services, shall set up Authorized Sun Education
Centers (ASEC) in a select group of 100 AICTE affiliate colleges across India.
Sun Educaitonal Services along with Sun Educational services worldwide
marketing will provide program infrastructure and process, location center
selection, local marketing and quality control. AICTE shall provide training and
certification of instructors, delivery of education and also work on quality
control.
Speaking on the occasion, R S Nirjar said, " This would give us an
opportunity to combine our resources and provide individuals with value
education on the upcoming technology and facilitate better performance".
