HYDERABAD: Technologies and services provider SumTotal
Systems has joined the Google Enterprise Professional program.
As a partner in the program, SumTotal is integrating the Google Search Appliance
within its learning management enterprise suite.
SumTotal said in a statement here that by launching a Google search from its
Enterprise Suite 7.2, its government and commercial customers will have an easy
and accessible hub for tapping into: classroom and online instruction,
activities and materials; informal learning such as presentations, case studies
and spreadsheets; and assessments of employee performance.
SumTotal's clients will be able to rely on Google's search to find information
sitting in legacy, mainframe and relational databases. Employees can quickly
recover information wherever it's stored across the enterprise and deliver that
data where it is needed most.
Jon Ciampi, vice president of marketing for SumTotal, said, "As a result of
SumTotal's partnership with Google, our customers now have a single point of
access to their respective companies' knowledge bases. The joint solution will
allow customers to quickly extract the data they need to develop and buttress
online courses, new-hire training, education around product launches, or any
formal learning and development efforts."
The Google Enterprise Professional program includes developers, consultants and
independent software vendors that provide value-added services for Google
enterprise products.
