BANGALORE, INDIA: Subex Ltd, a provider of Operations and Business Support Systems (OSS/BSS) for communications service providers, announced today the launch of ROCcloud, an on-demand ROC (Revenue Operations Center) offering suited for small and medium telcos.

Subex believes the BSS (Business Support System) needs of small and medium telcos are very different from those of larger telcos. In the same vein, most BSS products are developed to address the needs of large telcos, said a press release.

All the features in standard BSS products may not be required by smaller telcos, and hence it becomes difficult for them to justify the cost of procuring such products and realize the full ROI (Return on Investment). That said, it is also becoming increasingly important for smaller telcos to protect their revenues, manage costs and assure operations, especially when they are aiming to gain market share in a highly competitive and fast growing industry, it added.

“We believe ROCcloud addresses the crucial need of small and medium telcos, the need to optimize business, in the most pragmatic manner,' said Vinod Kumar, group president, Subex Ltd.

He added that with this on-demand ROC offering, small and medium telcos can completely avoid costs incurred on setting up infrastructure, those arising out of implementation or people services as well as maintenance, while still addressing their unique business needs. ROCcloud broadens our addressable market toward the small and medium telco segment.

The solution runs on monthly subscription based usage model and is immediately available on sign-up.

The service is delivered entirely on the web through a completely secure environment and uses a shared infrastructure spread across various global locations, thereby eliminating the need for a dedicated infrastructure.

ROCcloud is a pre-configured service that requires minimal customization and practically nil implementation services, thus enabling telcos to reap its benefits from day one. Its intuitive user interface, in-built video tutorials and configuration wizards, coupled with Subex support, ensure that telcos do not need significant in-house domain expertise to operate the service, the release said.
