NEW DELHI: Subex Systems Ltd has announced its participation in the Revenue Assurance (RA) Catalyst Project. The project, under the auspices of the TeleManagement Forum (TMF), aims to simulate portions of a reference framework to ensure that all elements of a telco's revenue assurance strategy are adequately covered. Such a framework becomes critical since a revenue assurance practice impacts multiple functional areas and goes beyond mere implementation of a tool to encompass multiple activities, processes, systems and network technologies.

Commenting on company's involvement in the projects, president and CEO of Subex Subash Menon said, "Given our understanding of the domain and contribution to the forum, Subex was a natural choice to be part of the RA Catalyst Project. This project amply demonstrates the extent of flexibility our products exhibit since we have to interface and integrate with several elements including components offered by competing solution providers."

The TMF RA Catalyst Project is a significant step forward in enabling operators to identify their entire systemic RA requirements. The framework, to be evolved, would enable operators map their immediate and future requirements and identify the right tools and processes to gain maximum leverage for their investment. Vendors benefit by being able to present their offerings in the context of an easy and commonly understood framework eliminating the need for repeated customer education and avoiding confusion by overlapping tool functionalities.

The RA Catalyst Project works closely with the RA modeling team and aims at simulating a real life scenario using multiple network elements to demonstrate how revenue leakage is addressed through the three revenue assurance stages.

To ensure that the TM Forum's recommendations are in line with operational reality, the RA Catalyst Project involves practitioners with real world experience and responsibilities and consists of six participating best-in-class revenue assurance vendor organizations and two operator sponsors. Each vendor is assigned responsibility of a specific area, based on their expertise. Subex is in charge of the 'Rule configuration and reconciliation engine' aspect of the project.
