Omantel and its mobile business Oman Mobile, provide fixed and mobile services to over 1.5 million customers. Omantel required an interconnect system to enable it to effectively rate, bill and provide settlements on its international and national services and agreements, Subex said in a statement.

Following a competitive tender by the Oman government board, the Subex Azure interconnect billing system (SAIBS) was chosen to provide interconnect billing for both Omantel and Oman Mobile. SAIBS is a flexible and scalable product, which enables operators to quickly and accurately settle interconnect agreements with their network partners, a Subex statement said.

SAIBS provides operators with visibility of CDRs (call detail records) and costs across all lines of business, supporting a wide range of services including termination and transit, as well as IP, SMS, MMS and 3G. This means that operators now have the ability to adapt to rate changes quickly enabling them to manage costs and revenues much more effectively.
