Students’ wait for a comment from CBSE as some States postpone board exams to May 2021

By : |November 18, 2020 0

Last week Maharashtra and Gujarat government postponed the 10th and 12th board exams to May 2021. Thus, students eagerly await comment from CBSE. Earlier, CBSE had hinted that they may postpone the exams by 45 to 60 days. But we may need to know that CBSE had already completed the process to fill the list of candidates and exam forms of Class 10th-12th. Further, schools are also trying to finish the syllabus on time. The dates that have not come out yet, are a major concern for class 12 students, especially as they also have to prepare for entrance exams like JEE Main, NEET, CA-CS Foundation etc.

CBSE Date Sheet for the Class 10-12 Board Examinations usually comes out in the month of December. In 2019, the board had released the date sheet in early November as it had announced its decision to pre-pone the board exams. This year, however, there is no news on the release date for the CBSE Date Sheet 2021.

According to the current situation, many states have now permitted reopening of the schools. As for many others, the schools continue to remain closed as the country waits for the pandemic curve to fall down.

Which states cancelled the exams?

Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad recently confirmed that it was impossible to conduct the board examinations for 10th and 12th before May of next year. This she announced along with the State Government’s decision to reopen the schools from November 23.

Similarly, Gujarat government stated that the GSEB 10th-12th Board Exams would happen in May 2021. This will be instead of the usual February and March dates. Andhra Pradesh too has hinted on a delay in the Intermediate Exams to April instead of the February time table. Telangana and Uttar Pradesh too are expected to make a similar announcement.

The rising concern among students is major trouble as these exams decide the future academic course of the students. Thus, CBSE ought to make an announcement soon.
