TAIPEI, TAIWAN: With seasonal demand for flexible copper clad laminates (FCCL) and photovoltaic back sheets seeing added demand, FCCL manufacturer Taiflex Scientific is eyeing a rise in its revenues.

Taiflex Scientific expects its consolidated revenues to climb to a record high of NT$450 million (US$13.86 million) in September. This, in turn, would help the FCCL maker to push its third-quarter sales up by 30 per cent sequentially to more than NT$1.25 billion.

Meanwhile, Taiflex's PV back sheet production is said to be running at almost full utilization. Industry sources pointed out that the revenues from this segment accounted for more than 15 per cent of Taiflex Scientific’s total revenues. The company expects PV back sheets to bring in monthly revenues of NT$100 million next year.

According to industry reports, the company has received orders for photo voltaic back sheets from China-based solar cell maker Tianwei Yingli. The company is believed to have kicked off shipments earlier in the third quarter to this customer.

Analysts, in the meantime, have speculated that demand for PV back sheets will remain strong in the fourth quarter of 2009, while FCCLs might most probably go through a seasonal decline. However, by this time, Taiflex would have pocketed revenues of NT$1.2 billion riding on boom time.

It is also looking at expansion of its PV project by sprucing up the monthly capacity at its PV facility to 200,000-250,000 square feet of PV back sheets in the third quarter of 2010.
