IBM Rational and VMware have jointly developed the IBM Rational and VMware Test Lab Automation Solution to address the challenges of configuration testing.

The solution combines the testing productivity benefits of Rational TestManager with the configuration management efficiencies of VMware GSX Server to multiply the capacity of software test teams.

The solution tightly links the two products, letting Rational TestManager call GSX Server to automatically start a virtual machine in which a test is executed and report the results of the test back to Rational TestManager.
