Storage veterans launch storage systems maker

NEW YORK, USA: A team of storage industry veterans from Compellent, HP, LeftHand Networks, LSI and Sun announced the launch of Starboard Storage Systems, a producer of Application-Crafted Storage systems for mixed workloads for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Starboard Storage Systems is led by Victor Walker, CEO (Sun), Karl Chen, CMO (LeftHand Networks), Lee Johns, vice president of product management (HP), John Potochnik, vice president of engineering (LSI), Bill Chambers, chairman of the board (founder/CEO LeftHand Networks), and Dennis Johnson, advisor to the board (EVP, Compellent).

Starboard Storage already has more than 30 customers managing more than 750 terabytes of capacity with the Starboard AC72 Storage System.
