Virtually every industry that maintains any database of information can incorporate Stonefield Query into their proprietary software or private label it for resale.

“Using our SDK, developers can take care of all the upfront programming easily and efficiently so their clients or corporate users can simply select the information they want, without overtaxing their IT departments,” according to Stonefield Software CTO Doug Hennig.

Stonefield Query’s SDK features a configuration utility to create the data dictionary, configuration, and script files for developers’ own databases or existing company database software.

This allows developers to define the data dictionary, configuration settings, scripts, build a HTML help file, and generate a setup.exe that's used to install their own custom reporting solution.

Unique features which differentiate the Stonefield Query SDK from other reporting solutions on the market include:

Data Dictionary Driven:
Allows developers to provide a simplified view of complex data that is clear and easy for any user to understand

Supports Multiple Data Sources:
This feature allows a user to run a report against multiple data sets of the same structure, such as databases for Company 1 and Company 2 or test data versus production data. Developers can even consolidate records from multiple data sets on the same report, such as seeing all invoices from Company 1 and Company 2 at the same time.

Query from Different Databases:
Want to query link tables from a Microsoft SQL Server database with those in Oracle? The Stonefield Query SDK allows developers to query on tables in different databases, even if they are in different database engines.

100 percent Branding:
Allows developers to brand their customized version of Stonefield Query, they can give it a custom name, logo, contact information and more through the SDK’s Configuration Utility

Multiple Language Support:
Includes English, Dutch, German, and Czech and includes a Resource Editor to define other languages

Supports Custom Scripting:
Allows developers to script certain behaviors to further customize Stonefield Query

Role-based Security:
Developers can define which user roles can access certain tables and fields

Data Groups:
Allows the developer to logically segregate tables by group or module, making it easier for the user to select from only the tables in the group they are interested in

SQProxy Object:
Allows developers to run Stonefield Query from their application

“This ease of use means a significant and sustained savings for your customers, whether it’s for resale or internal customers such as your company’s employees,” Stonefield’s CEO Mickey Kupchyk explained.

“We spent years doing the heavy programming work so developers using our SDK don’t have to. We bulletproofed and field-tested Stonefield Query before we brought it to the market, ensuring that it would work seamlessly with virtually any database-dependent packages, and this field-testing applies to our SDK as well,” added Kupchyk.

Stonefield Query’s new SDK supports Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, Sybase, Pervasive, Access, FoxPro, Progress, Excel, Interbase, and every other ODBC or OLE DB-compliant database. In addition, Stonefield Query also supports non-traditional data sources, such as flat text files and data that can only be accessed through an API.
