Sterlite receives TL9000 Certification

BANGALORE, INDIA: Sterlite Technologies Limited,  provider of wire and cable solutions for the telecom and power industry, today announced that its Optical Fiber & Fiber Optic Cables facilities in India have been audited and certified as per the TL 9000 Quality Management System.

Sterlite is the 1st Company in India & the 6th Company in the world to receive this certification for both Optical Fiber & Cables.

Since the past two decades, Sterlite has been a key industry forerunner in providing connectivity solutions to the Indian and global telecommunications industry.

With more bandwidth intensive applications becoming popular, Sterlite introduced several innovative solutions like Bend Insensitive Optical Fiber, Ribbon & Microduct Fiber Optic Cables, which have enabled propagation of optical fiber into India's metro-access network. Over 30% of fiber optic cables installed in India operate with Sterlite Optical Fiber.

TL 9000 is a Quality Management System (QMS) developed by the QuEST Forum, USA to meet the specific quality requirements of the worldwide telecommunications industry.

This QMS defines quality system requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation and maintenance of telecom products and services, and provides a measurement system that allows companies to track performance and improve results.
