This initiative has been rolled with the aim of catering to the acute under supply of rooms in the country as well as widening the quality of stay choices for travelers in India.

With the launch of the new mobile app and brand campaign, Stayzilla will enable hosts to open up their vacant rooms faster, thereby giving a huge push to the alternate stay segment in India.

“Today, India’s stay market is large and fragmented with shortage of close to 1,000,000 rooms in the country, creating a huge opportunity for expansion and growth. Moreover, there is a whole new breed of travelers who are looking at customized and personalized homestay options. Keeping these trends in mind, we have decided to strengthen our play in the alternate stay segment. With the launch of our new app and communication, our aim is to encourage hosts to open up their vacant rooms with Stayzilla. We have already opened up 7500 rooms in just 40 days across different cities and towns and our aim is to open up half a million rooms in the next 3 years,” said Yogendra Vasupal, Founder & CEO, Stayzilla.

The mobile app will cater to both homeowners and travelers looking for differentiated and unique stay experiences. The app has selective filters for hosts to choose the kind of travelers they would like to host and will allow users to look for stays that match their own requirements such as food preferences, travel type and much more.

A special ‘tribe’ feature on the app will also enable one to host travelers basis their passion - be it a specific interest, their institution or even to explore something new, thus giving people yet another reason to travel.
