He refused to consider the Supreme Court order on the quota issue was a setback to the government.

Singh added at a press conference here that he would do what is constitutionally and legally correct. The government would act according to legal opinion.

He said that every single member in the parliament had voted in favour of the law. He challenged anyone to come out in the open and speak against the law now.

Singh had earlier expressed hope that the Supreme Court would rule the interim order void.

SPECIAL: Reservation Dilemma

Earlier, a Supreme Court Bench comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat and LS Panta had stayed the quota for the coming academic session of premier educational institutions.

The Supreme Court Bench had observed that the OBC quota was just vote back politics.

The Bench also added that it was forced to take the decision against the government as the government did not implement the apex court's last two orders.

The court further asked the government to behave in a responsible manner and not to divide the society on caste basis.
