StartUp India invites applications for Enel Green Power Innovation Challenge; Winner prize about ₹4 lakhs

Enel Green Power India Pvt Ltd, a part of the Enel Group, is hosting an Enel Green Power Innovation Challenge along with StartUp India. Enel Green Power is playing a vital role in the energy transition. It is one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies. So, with this challenge, it seeks Startups that bring new ideas and innovation on the table towards power conservation.

Who can participate in the event?

According to the challenge, companies that are registered in India and have a commercially viable Proof of Concept can participate in the challenge. The should also have recognition from (DPIIT) and should be original works. They need to disclose any funding already received or about to receive. Further, they must address one of the three problem statements.

Lastly, employees of the companies of the Enel Group and their spouses or partners and their relatives are not eligible for participation in this Challenge.

The problem statements

There are three statements:

• Digital Solution and Artificial intelligence (AI) in Renewable Energy

Here, the company is looking for solutions that can maximize the available resources and improve efficiencies in the lifecycle of a Renewable Power Plant. The startup must also use using artificial intelligence, machine learning and other digital solutions for the same.

• Innovative Solutions for improving Safety in Renewable Energy

Startups must have solutions that enhance people’s health and safety. The intent here is to reach zero fatality. Further, there are three areas that the startups should cover.

1. People – Smart PPEs and diagnostic tool for safety equipment status checks.
2. Process & Site monitoring – Supporting on-field operators in complex weather and environmental conditions.
3. Behaviours – Recognition and detection of anomalies to prevent risks associated with wrong behaviours.

• Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Growth in Renewable Energy

The company is looking for solutions that enhance sustainable growth and eco-efficiency in the life cycle of a renewable project. The product should also provide a significant contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Timeline for the Enel Green Power Innovation Challenge

The applications have started from 20 July 2020. The last date to apply is 28 August 2020. Further, the results will be out on 11 September 2020.

Evaluation Criteria

The EGP Innovation Team will review and shortlist all submitted entries. Then they will contact the startups to present their idea before the Jury in a virtual event.

Prizes in the Enel Green Power Innovation Challenge

Shortlisted startups will be invited to pitch in final virtual Event show-casing their product/solutions. Winners will further be awarded by the jury.

1st Prize - INR 400000

2ndPrize - INR 250000

3rd Prize - INR 150000

Further, the shortlisted startups will have access to Enel Green Power mentors and Subject Matter Experts. They will also have the opportunity to carry out a paid pilot project with Enel Green Power. Moreover, they will have the opportunity for market access to product/solution with Enel Green Power.
