NEW DELHI, INDIA: StayZilla.com, a new start-up in the hospitality sector that helps travellers and tourists book rooms online in 4,000 hotels in 600 districts, is all set for expansion with an infusion of capital.

The Chennai-based start-up's inventory includes properties in over 350 lesser known and less accessible towns which may lack net connectivity or a website, yet offers privacy to families wishing to reserve rooms for a weekend getaway.

The accommodation includes suite in a three-star property in a metro city to a forest lodge in Kanha to a houseboat in Srinagar to a room in religious town--from Ajmer to Shirdi and Tirupati to Velankanni--among hundreds of options, according to a press release issued by the StayZilla.com.

Indian Angel Network (IAN), a group of successful entrepreneurs and CEOs from India and abroad, has invested $0.5 million (Rs 2.5 crore) in the company.

IAN investor-member Amitabh Shrivastava said domestic travel to and from smaller cities and towns driven by increased family mobility was witnessing exponential growth.

"The market for accommodation is almost completely untapped with just one percent of the hotel accommodation getting booked online. This presents a huge opportunity for StayZilla," he added.
