"Business Mashups are here today, and they're here to stay," said René Bonvanie, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, partner programs, and online services at Serena. "With Business Mashups, Serena provides an effective way to harness the innovation that exists at every level in every department across an organization - and convert that innovation into business productivity. We call this innovation without permission."

Get set to mash

First, Mashers use Serena Mashup Composer, a point-and-click visual design tool, to connect applications and automate business processes - such as sales discount approvals - all without writing any code. Then, with the click of a button, Mashup Composer publishes Business Mashups to Serena Mashup Server, an enterprise-class engine that executes the Business Mashup while providing the high reliability, security, and compliance that IT requires.

No fuss, No mess Mashups

To get companies started with Business Mashups, Serena will be offering an initial set of 13 free, pre-built Business Mashups that can be deployed immediately to address some of the most simple yet time-consuming processes in business today.

For example, employee requests for time off or travel approval typically require several emails or, even worse, literally walking around to managers to get signatures. Why not automate this process with a Business Mashup that can link the required people and systems?
