BANGALORE: SQL Star International Ltd. has acquired a 7.5 per cent stake in Solution Technology International Inc (STI), a Delaware, Maryland-based company.

SQL managing director Dr Ashok Agarwal said, "Our investment in STI underlines SQL's strategy of accelerated growth and will enable us to position the company in the critical industry segment of insurance.'' STI is involved in the building and deployment of a Web-based process infrastructure for insurance providers that ties traditionally separated front-end applications and back-office legacy systems into cost-reducing straight-through-processing modules, called DirectINSURE.

These modules help consumers understand and purchase insurance products and services as well as manage them after purchase. Through DirectINSURE, STI proposes to function in the marketplace as an insurance delivery system provider to facilitate selling of insurance easier and more profitable for its client-partners.
