MRO TEK would supply Extreme Network's broadband Ethernet switching solutions

for Spice and also in setting up MAN in Bangalore. The MRO-TEK’s CMD, S

Narayanan said, "The alliance with Spice Telecom comes in the backdrop of

increasing concern over the dearth in bandwidth. Spice Telecom has demonstrated

a continued acceptance of Gigabit Ethernet Metropolitan Area Network services

for telecom deployments, delivering a new age of broadband communications. As

part of this association, MRO-TEK will develop a high-end Metropolitan Area

Network offering high reliable bandwidth, virtually on demand."

Spice Telecom MD (Karnataka Circle) Sean Dexter said, the Extreme

range of products from MRO-TEK could be used

to leverage their switching technology for metro solutions and their technical

expertise in implementing such projects." To our customers this would

present bandwidth on demand from 2MBPS to 100MBPS and upward with an easy to

plug in Ethernet output for our corporate customers, he added.

The solution offered by MRO-TEK will attenuate the functionality of Internet

Protocol (IP) and the simplicity of Ethernet across the Metropolitan Area

Network. Spice Telecom will be using bandwidth management features to support

Ethernet circuits and VLANs for security on the broadband network.

Extreme Networks' Quality of Service (QoS) features are being implemented to

ensure bandwidth prioritization and assured bandwidth for various customers for

high-quality delivery of services on Ethernet. These services will be initially

implemented in Bangalore, thus catering to the long pending corporate demand of

high-speed reliable Fiber connectivity, using Spice Telecom's Metropolitan Area

Network.

Through this association, Spice Telecom will be able to provide its customers

with an increased bandwidth capability. The setting up of the MAN network will

ensure availability of bandwidth on demand that can be scaled between 2MBPS to

100MBPS and upwards via software with no hardware restrictions. The availability

of ready to plug in Ethernet outputs to customers will be an essential

ingredient for Spice Telecom's corporate customers.
