Spice is also reportedly going to launch around five smartphones that will run on the Android Ice-Cream Sandwich operating system. Sources also claim that these phones will be released this month. If this happens, then Spice Mobility will be the only mobile-phone/smartphone manufacturer to launch smartphones running on the Android ICS in India.

Since Spice develops mobile phones and smartphones keeping the budget-conscious buyers in mind, the latest Android ICS phone can also be expected to be a budget smartphone. Incidentally, Spice was the first to bring out dual Sim Android phones in India. It had also brought out India's first Android Phone without 3G.

One technical specification of the new Android ICS smartphone that can be expected is its processor. Since Android 4.0 requires processors that have a speed of at least 1GHz, the processor in the phone can be expected to have a speed of 1GHz or more. Details about the other technical specifications and features are not available at this point in time.

Nothing can be said about the launch date of the Spice Android 4.0 phones in India. Numerous mobile phone and smartphone manufacturers have not launched their gadgets as promised. So, at this stage, we can only wait for Spice to come out with the launch date.

Smartphones in India currently running on the Android ICS operating system are Samsung Galaxy Note, the Sony Xperia Series along with various HTC smartphones.
