Speedera, Wipro Net alliance on streaming services

NEW DELHI: Speedera Networks, Inc., has announced a strategic partnership

with Wipro Net Ltd., the Internet Services Provider (ISP) arm of Wipro

Corporation for providing streaming services to its customers in India and

South-East. Speedera provides integrated streaming media, Web content delivery,

fail over and global load balancing services for the Internet.

As the demand for fast and reliable Internet streaming services increases,

Networks' streaming expertise, coupled with Wipro Net's Internet based

communication services in 32 cities (plus three data centers in Mumbai,

Speedera's global network reach includes points of presence in the Americas,

Europe and Asia, including multiple points of presence in India's major cities.

India represents a significant market for Internet services, with Internet

user growth per capita expected to rocket to 461 per cent during the period

2000-2005, according to Computer Industry Almanac, Inc. During the same period,

computers per capita in India will grow at a rate significantly faster than

China and twice the growth rate of the Asia-Pacific region as a whole.
