Spanco forays into BPO biz in India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Spanco Telesystems and Solutions Ltd, telecom system integration company, today announced its foray into domestic BPO services.

The new venture, Spanco BPO has set up customer support centers in Gurgaon and Mumbai to provide back office and contact center services to domestic clients, Spanco said in a statement.

Spanco BPO plans to invest over Rs 400 crores in growing its presence across India over the next two years and will set up facilities across cities including Chennai, Jaipur, Mysore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Noida.

Spanco BPO currently employs over 3,000 people and is expected to grow around 5,000 employees in the first phase of expansion. The facilities in Gurgaon and Mumbai is spread over 2 lakh sq. feet with a capacity of 2200 seats.

The company aims to increase the capacity to 15000 seats with over 25000 employees by financial year 2009. Sandeep Soni, executive director and chief executive officer, Spanco BPO said, “We believe this is the best time to enter the domestic BPO market given the huge emerging opportunities within the country. We will seek to differentiate ourselves by providing complete BPO and strategic outsourcing solutions for organizations in India.”
