Spanco system to ensure safe transit of staff

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Spanco BPO, which is set to launch domestic BPO in the country, plans to launch an employee safety system – Su Raksha – for its India call center.

Revealing this to CyberMedia News Sandeep Soni, executive director and CEO of Spanco, said, “We have developed this product based on RFID and GSM technology. This is one of the innovative products developed by our team. It will revolutionize the safety of BPO employees.”

Highlighting the features of the product, he said that it would be installed in each of the vehicles, offering transport of its employees.

“Each vehicle would be connected to the main station installed in the office premises. The vehicles will have a pre-determined route and any deviation from it would raise the alarm in the security department of the office and within a couple of minutes, to the nearest police station,” Soni said.

He added that there would be a remote button attached to the seat of these vehicles, where the employee could set the alarm on with a push of the button.

Earlier, there were instances of BPO employees getting harmed by taxi drivers, who were supposed to ferry them to work and back. Nasscom had in December 2005, urged companies to constantly devise “better practices” to ensure the safety of employees.

“We will also make it available for the other call centers once we complete the successful testing. It will be a customized product to meet the requirements of the different organizational set-ups. We will also go for a patent of the product soon,” Soni added.

Spanco BPO provides onshore and offshore services. It is part of Spanco Telesystems, a networking and system integration solutions company.
