Sony Ericsson recognizes Indian developers

BANGALORE, INDIA: Sony Ericsson, on Saturday, awarded seven winners of the Sony Ericsson Developer World India recognition and certification program at the Great Indian Developer Summit conference held here.

Sony Ericsson Developer World is a global support program and Web portal which acts as a catalyst for securing a wide variety of applications and content addressing business and personal productivity, games and entertainment for Sony Ericsson's mobile phones. It also offers free assistance to the global mobile developer community to get the best market potential for their ideas and coding effort. 

In its endeavor to empower developers around the world to achieve business success, and by providing assistance throughout the entire development and go-to-market process for commercial applications, Sony Ericsson Developer World launched 'I Love Being Famous' in India, to offer the Indian developer community an opportunity to become famous with the Sony Ericsson playNow platform. 

Sony Ericsson launched the Sony Ericsson Developer World in India in November 2008 with a commitment to engage third-party mobile developers to create user experiences and innovative applications. Indian developers were offered an exclusive recognition program with submissions open from November 2008 to January 2009.

Sony Ericsson plans to showcase all the winners in mobile content development, by giving them an opportunity to attend a 100 day mentorship program with the expert panel at Sony Ericsson. The winners will be put on a platform open to international success and certification by Sony Ericsson.

Jens Greve, Global Head of Sony Ericsson Developer World, said: "The Indian developer community is expanding by 20 percent each year, one of the highest growth rates in the world, and Sony Ericsson sees the immense potential and talent in this community. The winners of our mentorship program demonstrate how we can drive innovation and business together."

“Through this program, we have been able to reach out to the entire community. We are listening to great ideas from developers and take them through the whole change through idea management, thus adding value to our perspective,” he added.
