The company said in a statement that this new appliance is a 10 port, all-gigabit UTM firewall that delivers high-speed internal and external network protection, enabling reduced deployment time, automated ongoing operations and enhanced network reliability.

Based on a dynamically updateable platform, the PRO 4100 incorporates multiple advanced networking, security and configuration features in an integrated appliance that reduces complexity and management overhead for corporate central sites, distributed environments and data centers.

The new device integrates high-speed gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention, anti-spam, anti-phishing, Clean VPN and content filtering on a single platform.

The PRO 4100 enables threat protection at the gateway and granular control of applications and bandwidth throughout and the network. “From a compliance perspective, it is important to us to have a solution that can prioritize traffic throughout the network, monitor the kinds of traffic being used and prevent certain non-business applications from being used,” said Tod Holsenbeck, senior network administrator at Valley Oak Systems, Inc., a developer of browser-based insurance claims software.

“With 10 gigabit interfaces on the PRO4100, we we're able to extend security functionality into the internal network and provide for our future security requirements through the dynamic update capabilities,” he added.
