BANGALORE, INDIA: Last Wednesday (Jan. 23), an Karnataka-based techie entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the world record in a 100-meter dash.

Hold on, it was not on any race track, but in an online game. The software engineer from Infosys Limited, Roshan Ramachandra, 23, achieved the feat by recording the highest score in the Flash-based game QWOP, stated a TOI report.

Apparently, the Guinness had set a target of completing 100 meters in 70 seconds. Earlier, he is said to have achieved it in 69 seconds on December 30, 2012. Ultimately, GWR announced that Ramachandra was the winner on January 23.

Among gaming fanatics, QWOP by Bennett Foddy is known as the fastest 100 meter Flash-based game, in which one can use four keys - Q, W, O and P - on the computer keyboard to control an athlete, Qwop, at a simulated 100-meter dash at the Olympics.

In this sprint game, only four keys should be used, out of which Q and W keys are to power the athlete's thighs, and O and P flex the calf muscles. It is believed among the community that it is easier to reach the target at the shortest time by using the W, O keys first, swiftly followed by depressing Q and P in an alternative fashion.
