SolidWorks unveils Enterprise PDM 2009

BANGALORE, INDIA: Marking SolidWorks Innovation Day 2008, Dassault Systemes SolidWorks Corp, a software provider for 3D solutions, unveiled Enterprise PDM 2009 recently.

The SolidWorks PDM, a product data management software solution for enterprises, is the latest version of 3D CAD software with a documented speed increase of upto 65 percent over SolidWorks 2008.

Ved Narayan, VP, APAC operations, Dassault Syatemes SolidWorks Corp., said: Solidworks addresses the growing market for advanced 3D mechanical designing on the Wintel platform. SolidWorks PDM improves the quality of designs. It secures organisation-wide sharing management and reuse of product data, enabling organisations to create better products. Customers can now focus on design and not CAD."

"It simplifies the process of managing product reuse by integrating Auto CAD, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/Engineer, Windows Explorer, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008. SolidWorks Enterprise PDM is available in 14 languages," Narayan added.

P M Ravikumar, education manager, Dassault SolidWorks Corp., said: "At SolidWorks we also look into bringing a merger between industry and institutes. We have partnered with 300+ institutes across India in the past three years. We have established 10 tool rooms in the country and by the end of year 2009 we will bring in about 100 more institutes under our project."
