SUNNYVALE, CA — November 15, 2005 — HCL Technologies today announced that it has completed the development of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Storage Management Initiative —Specification (SMI-S) conformance test suite 1.0.3 and 1.1.0.

As part of its efforts to promote industry standards, simplify the management of heterogeneous storage networks and offer enterprises greater interoperability, SNIA rolled out the third phase of its conformance test suite for Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) prior to the Storage Networking World Fall 2005 in Orlando, FL.

In 2003, SNIA partnered with HCL to develop the SNIA-CTP test suite, which covered Server, Array, Fabric and Switch profiles. SNIA launched Version 1.0 in April 2004. SNIA continued its successful partnership with HCL to develop the second phase of SNIA-CTP with 1.0.2 release covering two additional profiles, namely, In-band Virtualization and Fiber Channel Host Bus Adapter and Remote self-certification.

The SNIA-CTP test suites for version 1.1.0 of the SMI-S are the next step for testing the increased functionality of the SMI-S.

The suites are also designed such that vendors can participate more easily in the testing without incurring extra costs. These two changes are expected to greatly increase the participation of the vendors in the SNIA-CTP program.
