Snapchat Spectacles now available to buy online at $129.99

If you’ve been a fan of Snapchat’s cool Spectacles, we have some really good news for you. Well, the funky glasses are no longer limited to Snap’s vending machines and are openly available for $129.99 at online portal Spectacles.com. But the waiting period could be as long as four weeks.

Snapchat 'Spectacles' record video and pair to the user's phone over Bluetooth or WiFi which can then be uploaded to the user's Snapchat account.

According to a report in Fortune, 'Spectacles' come with a charging case and cable in three shades including black, coral red and teal blue.

The news comes as Snapchat begins its financial roadshow in London ahead of its highly anticipated IPO.

Meanwhile, the pop-up vending machines will continue to move around the US. A Snap spokesperson told Techcrunch 'Response has been positive since November's launch, so we're now happy to be able to make Spectacles more readily available — especially for those in the US who have not been able to make it to a Snapbot.'

Earlier Snap in its IPO filing mentioned that the Spectacles had failed to generate significant revenues for the company. The filing also mentioned that the company expected to experience production and operating costs related to Spectacles well in excess of the revenue obtained in the near future.

Snap, owner of the messaging app Snapchat, last week set a valuation of between $16.20 billion and $18.52 billion in its initial public offering, significantly below expectations. The company was widely expected to be valued at between $20 billion and $25 billion.
