SlashSupport sets up tech support facility in US

CHENNAI: SlashSupport, a provider of advanced tech support solutions, has announced the setting up of a new facility in San Jose, California. This is SlashSupport's first facility in the US and will become fully operational this quarter.

In Phase 1 of its expansion in the US, SlashSupport will employ over 50 IT professionals. The new state-of-the-art facility in California boasts the capability to handle support calls of all levels and complexities - level zero to level three. The center has 24x7 capabilities and is seamlessly integrated with other facilities based on the SlashSupport OneWorld Model.

SlashSupport, part of the San Jose-headquartered Cybernet Software Systems (CSS) Group, has four offshore facilities in Chennai, India, and a redundancy center in Singapore. The company employs over 2,000 IT professionals at these offshore facilities, spread across 1,80,000 sq. ft. SlashSupport has a customer base of 30+ global technology companies.

Announcing its US expansion, Shiva Ramani, CEO, SlashSupport said, "The move to set up a facility in the US has been the result of a couple of major outsourcing wins last quarter, which has necessitated a partial US-based support delivery operations. Our San Jose facility would open opportunities for us to work with a bigger set of customers with similar requirements. In addition, it adds onshore capabilities to our offerings, making us a full service provider with a global delivery model."

SlashSupport already has a good grasp of business development and client management functions operating from the US. The new San Jose support center will help the company meet some of the local support requirements in providing the complete range of support services, significantly strengthening its support infrastructure outside India.

SlashSupport will continue to ramp up its offshore operations in India and is currently in the process of hiring over 1,000 IT professionals in Chennai. The company had recently announced expansion of its Indian operations with the setting up of a fourth tech support facility in Chennai. The firm's service offerings include enterprise technology application and product support, consumer technology application and product support and system management services.
