LAS VEGAS, USA: Sisvel International S.A. announced the launch of a new licensing program for patents acquired from Panasonic System Networks Co. Ltd, a division of Panasonic Corp., and which are essential to DSL technology standards; specifically the G.994.1 standard, which relates to handshake procedures for digital subscriber line (DSL) transceivers.

"In Sisvel's view, this patent portfolio reflects the most significant contribution to the development of the G.994.1 standard and we thank Panasonic System Networks for the opportunity to ensure that its work within this space is properly recognized," said Sandro Spina, Licensing director of the Sisvel Group.

Licenses under these patents will be offered on reasonable, and non-discriminatory, or RAND, conditions. Information about the terms and conditions of such licenses will soon be available from Sisvel upon request by companies requiring a license.
