BANGALORE: Siemens Information Systems Ltd. (SISL), the software subsidiary

of Siemens Ltd. and Siemens Business Services, has launched an integrated

healthcare information system (HIS) for the Indian and global market.

The product suite has been conceptualized and developed at SISL centre in

Bangalore. Effective this month, HIS will be integrated into the product range

of Siemens Health Services GmBH. SISL managing director Anil Laud said the

Windows-based HIS integrates the functions of all the departments in a hospital.

It has a huge collection of clinical modules for laboratory, nursing, radiology,

blood bank and administrative modules like registration, patient financials,

stores and pharmacy. It enables patient records and drug prescriptions to be

available on the hospital network. SISL will further develop the software to

meet the needs of hospitals in different countries. The software is currently

being used at the Amrita Institute of Medical sciences, Kochi and is expected to

go live at Krishna heart foundation, Ahmedabad.
