SiRF India to expand operations

BANGALORE: SiRF India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. has announced the expansion of its development center in Bangalore.

As part of its expansion, the Indian subsidiary will be consolidating its multiple offices into a much larger facility in the IBC Technology Park on Bannerghatta Road in Bangalore.

SiRF India has invested more than US$1 million in its new facility that is capable of seating 200 employees.

Headquartered in Noida, SiRF India was established in 2004 as a Center of Excellence for engineering and marketing activities supporting SiRF's global operations.

Today, SiRF India is working on delivering the next generation products in location, wireless and mobile TV technologies. SiRF India's more than 100 engineers today work on end to end product development that includes ASIC design, board design, embedded software, mixed signal and analog design, system validation and core technology development.

"SiRF is expanding very aggressively in India. We have grown from having no development center in Bangalore to nearly 100 employees in less than a year's time", said Ashutosh Pande, managing director of SiRF India.

"We plan to significantly expand our headcount in India in 2007 between our development centers in Noida and Bangalore. The new facility in Bangalore will help us support our aggressive expansion plan in India."
