SAN FRANCISCO: Nexsi Systems unveiled on Tuesday a new type of network
appliance designed to improve the security and speed of large corporate networks
without the need for separate software programs or hardware.
Nexsi, a start-up formed two years ago by former engineers and executives of
Sun Microsystems Inc., Intel Corp., 3Com Corp. and Nortel Networks Corp., is
targeting its Nexsi 8000 content services system at large corporations that have
their own data centers and Web hosting companies that keep Web sites traffic
flowing smoothly.
