NEW DELHI, INDIA: Simmtronics Semiconductors Ltd, a provider in memory modules manufacturers, today announced the introduction of its latest compact and lightweight netbook—Simmbook, designed specifically for mobile the computing needs.
The new offering is powered by the incredibly small and amazingly smart Intel Atom processor, which delivers the requisite performance needed for enjoying popular applications like emailing, web surfing and instant messaging, said a press release.

The one of its kind product is a special offering for our customers,” said Vinit Shangle, national sales manager, Simmtronics Semiconductors Ltd.
Along with India, the company has launched Simmbook in other important markets like USA, Europe, UAE, among others.
Featuring in black, blue and red color chassis, it comes with 10.2-inch LCD screen with 1024X600 resolutions. It has 160 GB SATA HDD and it can support up to SATA HDD 500 GB. 1GB DDR2 667MHz memory is standard with Simmbook. In addition to that it can also support DDR2 667/533 MHz and has one SO-DIMM DDR2 memory slot that supports up to 2GB with high density memory technology module.
Simmbook comes integrated with one PCI-E interface that supports 802.11 B/G, 1.3 Mega-pixel PC Camera, 10/100 M Ethernet Controller, Audio / video port, LAN port, three USB ports and supports operating systems like Windows XP SP2, Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows 2007. Weighs about 1.2 Kgs with 3 cell Li-ion battery pack, Simmbook also provides the option to opt for six-cell Li-ion battery pack.
The netbook comes bundled with K7 Antivirus Software with one year validity and is priced at Rs 13,999.00.
The company provides after sales support through its "Back to Base" service centers at 16 locations across the country, the release added.
