NEW DELHI: Sify Ltd is now ready to deploy Tier 1 class IP based network to

its clients. This makes Sify the first ISP in the country to be ready with a

carrier class network, which would enable data speeds at 40 million packets per

sec per node. Deploying Cisco’s Gigabit Switch Routers (GSR) has enabled this.

Speaking about the new capability, R Ramaraj, MD, Sify said, "Increased
availability of domestic connectivity with the entry of private players like

Bharti, RailTel in the domestic long distance space has enabled us to provide

offerings to customers which significantly increase the speed of data

transfer."

Manoj Chugh, President, India & SAARC, Cisco Systems, said, "Deploying
GSP would enable Sify to prioritize traffic according to their customers'

requirement in addition to features like ability to scale very quickly."

Over 50 percent of Sify's revenues come from its corporate customer base of over
8,000. The IP-based network would enable corporate customers to maximize

investments in implementing ERP, Supply Chain Management, CRM and other

enterprise applications connecting all its offices. Sify's comprehensive IP VPN

solution is marketed under the SecureConnect brand.
