Siemon sees 300 p.c. growth in next fiscal

With a keen focus on the IT, BPO and Telecom sectors, The Siemon Company is targeting a growth of 300 per cent in the next fiscal.

In an exclusive interview Witty Feng, vice-president, The Siemon Company expressed optimism in the company’s growth in the global market. He told Bhaskar Hazarika from CyberMedia News that the company is focusing more on regional distributors to expand their base in the sub-continent.

The company offers standards-based structured cabling systems and components in India and offers a range of structured cabling solutions.

How long have you been present in the Indian market? Can you also share your headcount in the Asia-Pacific region?

We are focusing on niche areas where we can have value addition as a premium solutions provider. We commenced our India operations in 2003.

In India we have our offices operating in New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. We have 15 offices in the APAC region. More than 200 people are employed across the APAC region.

How many customers do you have in India? Can you name a few?

We have successfully executed some major contracts in the year 2005-`06 for Punjab National Bank, BLB, ABB, SSIT, Bagalkot Engineering College, Future Info solutions and a number of major clients. We work with 140 global customers.

How many certified 45 installers are there in India? Are you planning to add more partners here?

We are focusing more on regional distributors to expand our base in the sub-continent. At present we have Advent InfoTech as our national distributor, the company is also in the process of appointing some new regional distributors. We have also appointed Anixter, which manages global accounts, and is responsible for providing delivery and logistics for the same.

We are also seeking sub-distributors for the southern and western markets as we see a lot of potential for our products in these markets. We would be looking for partners who are equipped with appropriate technical know-how. We believe that such partners add value to our business in meeting our goal to provide quality solutions to our clients.

Which are the primary sectors of your business in India?

IT, BPO, BFSI, Telecom, Education, Financial Institutions and Health are the key verticals that we are targeting. Further with the opening up of FDI new areas have widened for cabling vendors in Retail and Real Estate.

Can you also share your revenues, both global and India in particular?

Siemon had witnessed 220- 240 per cent growth last year and is targeting 300 per cent in the next fiscal. We are optimistic to reach this target with the growth in the IT and ITES industry. However, we do not share breakup figures on country basis.
