Siemens unveils CT scanner, enhanced CRM solution

Siemens Medical Solutions that offers innovative medical devices that contribute to improving the care of patients has announced the launch of the first Somatom Sensation 16 in India. It is capable of acquiring 32 slices per second with sub-millimeter thickness, leading to fast coverage along with ultra high resolution. Along with volume, resolution and speed the Somatom Sensation 16 runs on the syngo user interface software with integrated 3-D image processing that allows a wide range of clinical applications.

The company also launched the new System Upgrade Program called Somatom Elevate, as a part of its CRM initiative called Somatom life.



Commenting on the launch of Somatom Sensation 16, Dr. Richard Hausmann, President, Computed Tomography, Siemens AG, said, " Technology and advanced equipment are key factors in providing efficient healthcare today. Somatom Elevate, a Managed System Upgrade Program is a part of the integrated customer care solution called Somatom Life. Somatom Elevate is a program that gives individual customers a managed access to move to a higher technology or performance level. India has a large installed base of Siemens Somatom axial CT scanners who can now much more easily move up to the a spiral or a multi-slice CT - the next performance level.
