SAN MATEO: E-business software maker Siebel Systems Inc. on Tuesday beat Wall
Street's third quarter earnings estimate by 3 cents as total revenues soared 131
per cent from the year-ago quarter.
Third quarter revenues were $480.9 million, up from $208.5 million in the
year-ago quarter. The company said revenues from license fees jumped 135 per
cent to $300.4 million from $127.7 million during the same period in 1999.
Siebel reported a net income of $71 million, or 14 cents per diluted share,
compared with pro forma net income of $27.3 million, or 6 cents per diluted
share during the third quarter of 1999.
The results beat Wall Street's consensus estimate of 11 cents per share, as
reported by First Call/Thomson Financial.
Before the announcement, Siebel shares ended up $2-15/16 at $112-3/4 on the
Nasdaq.
