Shyam Telecom to offer CDMA mobile services in India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Mobile operator Shyam Telecom has got the pan-India spectrum for launching mobile services in India. Russian major Sistema holds majority stake in Shyam Telecom.

DoT has allotted radio frequencies on the CDMA technology platform. With this, Shyam Telecom, becomes the third operator in India to offer CDMA based mobile services along with Tata Teleservices and Reliance Communications.

Shyam had opted to offer mobile services in CDMA technology and had applied for 21 circles except Rajasthan where the company is already offering services under the brand name Oasis.

Earlier this year, Shyam-Sistema had announced that the company would offer mobile services across India on the CDMA platform.

The government also allotted GSM radio frequency to new telecom operators like Datacom, Unitech, Loop Telecom and Swan telecom for six circles.
