CIOL Shuttl partners Google Maps to improve commute search

In a bid to improve its commute search and services, bus-ride aggregator Shuttl has partnered with Google Maps to enable users to search for Shuttl ride on its platform whenever a user looks for public transport between two locations.

This means that next time when a user searches for directions between two points, he/she will be able to see the walking distance to nearest Shuttl bus stop, its schedule and estimated fare just as one sees options for Ola and Uber.

“Shuttl is changing the way cities commute to work by pioneering seat based mass transit. Surfacing Shuttl rides on Google Maps is a big step towards integrated mobility, making it easier for commuters to plan their trips in real time across multiple modes of transport. This also helps Shuttl to reach a wider audience and serve the city better,'' said Amit Singh, co-founder, Shuttl.

Shuttl ride option will be available under the public transport tab together with Delhi Metro & Rapid Metro.

Founded by IIT Delhi alumni Amit Singh & IIT Kanpur alum Deepanshu Malviya, the service lets commuters find a route, buy their ticket and take a bus via its iOS, Android and Windows Phone apps.

In December Shuttl launched an inter-city travel service called “Shuttl Rentals“, to provide flexible packages to its commuters planning a weekend getaway outside Delhi & NCR.
