NEW DELHI, INDIA: With the admission season round the corner, students are all geared up to prepare for their interviews and zero in on the institute of their choice. The mushrooming of a multitude of business schools in India has made it increasingly difficult for students to decide on their future "alma mater".

Exacerbating the situation is the scarcity of authentic information on topics like admission process, placements of the students etc. In order to help aspiring students, Shiksha.com, an online portal that connects education seekers with education providers and is part of Infoedge India Ltd initiated a counselling session for business school aspirants with campuses on Whatsapp.

The session witnessed business school aspirants asking current students about the variety of topics such as life on campus, specializations offered, group discussions, interview tips and so on.

Prakash Sangam, Business head, Shiksha.com, said: "Through the Shiksha Campus Rep program we are striving to help students make an educated decision about their choice of campus. The direct rendezvous with students ensures that information communicated is authentic and lacks bias. Since mobile internet is growing by leaps and bounds in India especially in tier 2 and 3 cities, Whatsapp has ensured that we are able to reach out to students beyond the vicinity of tier 1 towns and engage with them directly. We will continue to innovate with our Campus Rep Program to ensure that we are able to touch base with a maximum number of students."
