NEW DELHI: Servex, a storage networking solutions provider, has released its
next data storage SCSI-to-SCSI product, the AccuSTOR S1000, a 10-bay host
independent Ultra 160 SCSI RAID storage solution. The AccuSTOR S100 provides
enhanced system management, availability, redundancy, fault-tolerance and
reliability for today's data-rich operations.
The AccuSTOR S1000 is designed to help customers effectively manage their
explosively growing data requirements and generate faster, flexible, universal
access to that data. The AccuSTOR S1000 features dual on-board 4-channel SCSI
RAID controllers (2nd optional), non-RAID or Multiple RAID configurations, a
choice of two RISC CPU speeds and two SCSI classes, up to 1GB of memory and full
management support from Web-based iSTOR software manager. The AccuSTOR S100
functions in either a 4U (1U = 1.75") rack-mount design, or in a
freestanding tower construction and comes in two colors, black and beige.
The AccuSTOR S1000 is engineered to support any host system equipped with a
SCSI interface and provides standalone RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive
Disks) control in several highly specialized configurations, to meet the
individual requirements of almost any operation. The AccuSTOR S1000 is
compatible with all major operating systems and is totally independent of the
host operating system, thus allowing for host independent data management.
The AccuSTOR S1000 supports 3.5" LVD U160 or Ultra 2 Wide SCSI drives,
transfers data up to 160MB/sec and supplies standard single connection
attachment (SCA-2) support providing maximum interoperability and speed.
Furthermore, the AccuSTOR S1000 can be linked in multiple arrays, controlled or
uncontrolled, which can be daisy-chained as needed for additional storage
expansion.
The redundant and hot-swappable features of the AccuSTOR S1000 allow key
components to be removed and replaced quickly without powering the system down
which increases the speed of maintenance and reduces downtime considerably. With
hot-swappable, redundant fans, the AccuSTOR S1000 reduces failure caused by
overheating.
ISTOR is AccuSTOR S1000's user-friendly Java-based software management tool.
iSTOR provides a Windows-style interface (Customizable windows, a tool bar and
navigation panel with point-and-click icons, pull-down and pop-up menus) for
system monitoring and management delivered through the Internet. iSTOR Manager
being a Java-based Graphical User Interface program, can accommodate the
"Look and Feel" standards of various Operating Systems.
The ACCUSTOR S1000 also offers HA (High Availability) server software
solution which provides an optimum level of redundancy-based assurance and
security for data-intensive environments. By clustering servers and storage
units together, the storage unit acts as a backup server whenever one of the
clustered servers goes down and it can also use its stored data to help rebuild
the failed server. With this solution in place users are able to access data
seamlessly and uninterrupted. The HA Solution affords mission critical
operations with a never-fail combination of redundancy and high fault tolerance
for the ultimate in dependability.
