Senior Intel Executive joins NComputing

NEW DELHI, INDIA: NComputing announced that Mark Beckford, a former Intel executive who designed and led the company’s key emerging market initiatives, has joined NComputing as VP of Global Business Development. An 11-year Intel veteran, Beckford brings a wealth of experiences and relationships, having worked to bring affordable computing to underserve markets in more than 40 countries.

Beckford was the original architect and driver for Intel’s ‘World Ahead’ program, which championed the Classmate PC laptop.

Beckford joined Intel in 1996 as a marketing manager for worldwide server channels. He was soon promoted to oversee global channel marketing, which was responsible for significantly expanding Intel’s emerging markets PC business worldwide.

In 2005, he moved to Shanghai, China to start a new business group that was chartered to bring to market products designed specifically for the unique needs of underserved markets. One of these products was the Classmate laptop.

Most recently he was MD of Intel China's Strategic Business Development team, working closely with the Chinese government and local industry partners on numerous growth initiatives.

Beckford received his Masters of Business Administration in 1996 from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
